ORGANIC CERITFICATION
The Duke is Soil Association Certified. Examples of the the daily changing
organic menus can be seen on this site along with a listing of The Duke's
excellent organic beers and lagers. The pub has an extensive list of over
40 wines carefullfy researched to find the best organic wines of the world.
You can enjoy a meal or a drinks in the bar area, or dine in the seperate restaurant area with its conservatory or iin the summer on the front terrace tables.
In May 2005 we converted the courtyard into a stunning conservatory transforming
the restaurant area into a light warm and airy dinning room. With huge cedar
trusses, glass roof and under floor heating.
The conservatory is made from wood from renewable sources and recycled materials while maintianing features from the original Victorian outhouses and courtyard. The floor is made from Welsh slate and the beautiful art deco conservatory doors, recalimed from a London bank are made out of mahonangy and copper.

TRAIN AND TUBE
The nearest underground station is Angel tube which is on the Northern Line
(Bank branch). The overground trains go to Highbury and Islington (Thameslink
and North London line)
DIRECTIONS
FROM ANGEL TUBE
Turn right out of the station up towards Islington Green, at the green the
road spilts into two - take the right side, Essex Road for about 100 yards
and St Peter's Street is the first on the right, the Duke is about 200 yards
down St Peter's Street on the right.

The most regular stops are Islington green or Angel
tube station. Bus numbers are:

The
Duke is on a cycle route and there are places to lock your bike outside. Please
take care though, as with everywhere in London theives are about.

free on meters after 6.30 Monday to Friday, 1.30 on Saturdays and all day
