Weddings
The Duke of Cambridge makes a fantastic venue for wedding parties – people usually get married locally and then come to the pub afterwards for the meal and celebration. We can close part (or all) of the pub, and there is space for up to 150 people to enjoy either a buffet or sit-down meal (this isn’t a set menu – we take orders on the day). Outside catering
The Duke of Cambridge offers a superb outside catering service. We can cook delicious organic dishes for large functions or smaller events such as dinner parties at home. We can either bring the food to you, or have one of our chefs come and prepare it in your home or venue. Sadly we can only offer this service within a limited radius for the time being, but please contact us if you’d like more information please email us at duke@dukeorganic.co.uk

Filming and shoots
The pub can be hired out for filming and location shoots – if you are interested in discussing rates and terms, please email Geetie at duke@dukeorganic.co.uk. We welcome likeminded people and organisations, but don’t work with multinational brands.

The Soil Association Food Awards 2008
The Duke of Cambridge recently closed its doors for three days in June to host the Soil Association’s Food Awards 2008 (picture on right), where a judging panel assessed and tasted a vast array of organic foods from UK producers. Geetie was one of the judges, alongside fellow organic food enthusiasts such as Jo Wood and chefs Barney Haughton (Bordeaux Quay), Sam Clark (Moro), Thomasina Miers (Wahaca), Allegra McEvedy and Henry Dimbleby (Leon).

During the three days, the judges tasted and rated a wide selection of organic produce, including meats, cheeses and pantry items. Everything was laid out in the pub for tasting, and anything that was left over was donated to local charity Shelter From The Storm, which assists people with drug and alcohol issues. Anything that wasn’t suitable for cooking or eating was composted.

The winning products will be showcased at The Soil Association’s Food Festival on 6 and 7 September in Bristol, which is part of the organisation’s Organic Fortnight. For more information, visit the Soil Association website.

SHELTER FROM THE STORM
On Tuesday 16th of September the Duke of Cambridge closed its doors for the evening to host a fundraising night for a local homeless shelter, Shelter From the Storm.
Funded to date by contributions from the local business community and by charitable grants, Shelter From The Storm operates on 2 days every week throughout the year, providing those in need with a bed, evening meal and breakfast.

The event was hosted by the well known writer, broadcaster, presenter and reporter, Hardeep Singh Kohli, (Bafta winning It’ll never work and Bafta winning In Search of the Tartan Turban) Shelter From The Storm’s first charity event sold out within days and has attracted support from all areas.
